Legal

Privacy Notice.

How your information is handled, in plain English.

Draft for legal review. This page is written as a working template so the site is complete. It has not been reviewed by a solicitor and must be checked against UK GDPR, the Consumer Contracts Regulations and the client's actual practices before launch. See the README.

The Sacred Ibis is a private practice run by Ruby Taman, The Vale, London NW11. This notice explains what happens to information you give through this website.

What is collected

  • Anything you type into the enquiry form: your name, email, telephone number if given, what brings you here, and how you found the practice.

  • Your email address if you subscribe to the letters.

  • Order details if you buy from The Sacred Shop: name, delivery address, and what you ordered.

Card details are never seen or stored by this practice. Payments are handled entirely by the payment provider.

Why it is held

Enquiry details are held in order to reply to you and, if you become a client, to run the work. Order details are held to fulfil the order and to meet the record-keeping the law requires of a UK business. Email addresses on the letter list are held on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How long

Enquiries that do not become client work are deleted within twelve months. Client records are held for the period required by professional practice and by HMRC. You can ask for deletion at any point beyond that.

Who else sees it

Nobody, other than the service providers who make the site and shop work: the email provider, the commerce and payment provider, and the hosting provider. No information is sold or shared for marketing.

Confidentiality of the work itself

What is said in a session stays in the session. No client is named publicly. The single client story published on this site is a composite with every identifying detail changed.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to how it is used, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. To do any of these, write to info@thesacredibis.com.
